It is with great gratitude that I write this letter of recommendation for Skydda. Skydda’s services were used by Unitrans Supply Chain Solutions recently in securing our Distribution Centre in Nandi Drive, Durban during the unrest and looting that was experienced in KwaZulu Natal. When the need arose to make use of Skydda’s services this had to be done within a very short space of time and Skydda was prepared to get their services deployed to our site from Gauteng to KwaZulu Natal in less than 4 hours. They arrived fully equipped and ready to perform. From the time the Skydda team arrived at our DC they took charge of the security situation, managed the other security providers on site and ensured that our premises were protected throughout from looting and damage. This was done under extremely difficult circumstances – roads blocked by protestors and looters, absence of SAPS and SANDF personnel and numerous warehouses being looted and set on fire in our immediate vicinity. Our DC was completely cut off from any supporting services for more than 120 hours. Throughout the looting and riots the Skydda team was on site, monitoring the security situation, mitigating the risks and communicating with our management team throughout. I found the management team at Skydda professional, courteous and very knowledgeable and can recommend the team without any reservations. Our DC was one of only a few warehouses let standing after the riots and looting and this is all thanks to the professional services rendered by the Skydda team.
